Self-employed workers who are interested in changing their mutual insurance company for the year 2024 will have until September 29, 2023, to do so. However, the change will be effective as of January 1, 2024.
The deadlines for the change of mutual insurance company for self-employed workers are set forth in Law 35/2014.
The Deadlines for Change of Mutual for Self-Employed workers are included in Law 35/2014, dated November 26, known as the Mutual Law, and in Article 72.b) in relation to self-employed workers it states the following: “Workers included in the scope of application of the Special Scheme for Self-Employed or Self-Employed Workers (RETA), whose protective action includes voluntarily or compulsorily the economic benefit for temporary disability, may choose to join a Mutual Collaborating with the Social Security for the management of the same. However, workers who have joined the Special Regime as of January 1, 1998 must formalize the same with a Mutual Collaborating with the Social Security, as well as those who have joined a Mutual since the aforementioned date and who change entity.”
All employees of the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers or Self-Employed Workers are obliged to have an agreement with a Mutual Insurance Company that covers the coverage indicated in the previous paragraphs and may change Mutual Insurance Company if they wish to do so.
If you are interested in changing your mutual insurance company, the procedure is simple. The application form must be filled in at the Mutual Society of your choice. Submit this form before the deadline of September 29, 2023, and submit it to the Mutual with which you wish to take out such coverage.
